Have you ever used Google Maps, Google Earth or Google Street View? If you are like most the answer is yes. One of the greatest challenges Google faces is not so much in trying to map the entire planet but also in keeping that imagery up to date. Much of the data captured is very old. As with Todos Santos and Los Cabos many of the outlying areas can be 10+ years out of date. And as much as 90% of the roads have yet to have even been captured. The result of this is what you see on Google may not be what you will see and experience first hand.
A large percentage of the local economy is dependent on tourism. And many would be tourists research areas they will travel to prior to departing. Businesses and local attractions are at a grave disadvantage if they are not listed or seen on Google Maps. Travelers may easily pass by these establishes not knowing they even exist. Or they may not want to pass down unmaintained roads not knowing they have been recently paved. New resorts and businesses are popping up everywhere. Los Cabos and the surrounding ares are experiencing rapid growth. You would never realize this looking at data some of which dates back to 2009.
